Anything that can cause a file to disappear can cause a character to disappear as well.
I won't even attempt to diagnose console or phone issues.First up, characters are tied to the presence of the.plr file in your Players directory, and to my knowledge, -only- to that. Mind you, this applies only to the PC version. I've never seen this myself, but my suggestions are fairly straightforward regardless. This means you can easily make mods that are compatible with other mods and save yourself the trouble of having to decompile then recompile Terraria.exe. TModLoader is an API for Terraria that provides a way to create and load mods without having to work with Terraria's source code directly.
